In 1996, UCS began to build a proprietary mapping system which made locating pipelines, road crossings, valve sites, and right-of-ways much more efficient. We now call this mapping system “The RAMQuest Mapping System.” The RAMQuest Mapping System is based off of an interactive computerized road map, that allows us to overlay pipelines, valve sites, and road crossings using a GPS. RAMQuest is downloaded onto a Laptop that is mounted inside of our vehicles. The operator can select a “Go To” function, and the computer will map out the most efficient route to the desired location. Regardless of the customer, we can respond to our customers’ needs “Right Away.” The system also allows us to enter in unique characteristics of each locations such as access points, hazards, landowner issues, etc.
